Bridget E. O'Connor

My name is Bridget O’Connor and this is my first year at the Michael Berry Career Center. I’m currently studying Desigh Conceptswith Mr. Bazzi. I’ll be graduating from Dearborn High School at the end of the year. After graduation I plan on attending HFCC to earn an associates degree and then transfer to a university, major unknown. I plan on living a full and content lifestyle. I plan on being very successful. I tend to take on stressful projects, but usually they turn out well. I hope to do a lot of traveling during my life. On the enneagram I'm a type 2. I never watch television because I don't approve of what it's turning our nation into.

2-D work

Perspective Drawing

For this project we had to create some kind of design using a 2 point perspective.

Balance project

This is the second ideation step for this project. First we had to come up with 10 symetrical thumb nails and 10 asymetrical ideas. Then we had to choose one of each type and enhance it 4 times. After we had the 8 drawings we choose one of them and enhance it even further. In the final design process we had to add texture, an element from another design.

FINAL PROJECT

Visual communication rendering exercises

For this excersise I used Prisma color markers and our design pens.

Pages from my skecthbook

This drawing I did at the begining of the semester using pencil.

This drawing is just a rough sketch using pencil.

This design was really fun to make. I didn't really think about what I was doing, it just came out on the paper.

This sketch was done using my tech pens and my imagination.

Digital work

Word Design

For this project we had to choose two opposite words and make a design that complements the meaning of the two.

Shape and Space

This was the first ideation step for this project. We had to design 20 thumbnail drawings, 10 symetrical and 10 asymetrical.

This is the second ideation page. We had to choose an asymetrica and symetrical idea and enhance, and rotate it 90 degrees and 180 degrees.

For this project we had to make a design on paper and then create it on the computer using Adobe Illustrator.

Face Changing

This was the first step to the 'face and place' project. The goal was to use imagery to distort a human face.

Graphic Design Project

We had to design something thats considered graphic art. Graphic art is something that includes flat text, color, shape and image.

Random Designs

I created this in Illustrator, just for fun!

Dearborn Hills Logo competition

We were asked by our teacher to create a logo for the Dearborn Hills Civic Association, and enter the competition. The competition was open to anyone in Dearborn, students and non-students.

Political Poster

Our class researched political poster and presented them to the class. We had to say why they were good designs and how they got their message across. After that we started to create our own political poster using illustrator.

Text

I found a text that I liked on the internet, and then I used 3 shapes to make my own font. I used a large circle, a small circle and a rectangle.

Magazine Ad For the Beane Project

For this project we had to create a magazine ad for our watter bottle/coffee mug/tea pot. The concept of my design is "life is better with the beane."  Basically it's saying that you may not be able to afford all the images shown, but something just as classy and rich looking and feeling you can afford, and that's the beane.

Rhino

The Duck

When we began to use Rhino this was one of the first tutorials that we had to do.

The Desk

Our class had to create the desks that are in our room onto the computer using Rhino, and this is how mine turned out!

Coffee Mug Design

Each student created either a coffee mug, water bottle or a tea pot. Click the picture to see the power point presentation.

This is the ideation stage of the project. It took me 3 pages of ideations to finally come up with something that I liked.

These are my rendered sketches of what the mug would look like.

This is the stage where I measured what the exact size of the mug would be. Then I took it to Rhino to create it.

This is the final project. I decided to call it the Beane. See "magazine ad" for the ad that I created.

Even though I do not have that many paintings to display, this is my favorite one. It's done on canvas using acrylic paint, which I painted with my fingers.

This is my version of the Andy Warhol banana piece.
