Brittney Grygar

My name is Brittney Grygar and I am a senior at Edsel Ford High School. I've been going to The Dearborn Center for Math, Science, and Technology/Michael Berry Career Center since I was in 9th grade. After completing three years at DCMST I switched over into the MBCC program of Design Concepts, in the hope that it would help me better myself in design as I'm aiming to be a Graphic Designer or Advertiser. My goal is to get into an art college and major in Graphic Design while minoring in Photography or Illustration.

Face and Place

Within this project we were supposed to take a model/face and either incorporate an animal or ianimate object with the person, by blending them together in Photoshop. Afterwards we were to put together a "Surreal" background for the image.

Political Poster

The goal of this project was to create a poster conveying the mesage of a political or social cause, such as War, Abuse, or Gay Marriage. I chose to depict the rights of Gay Marriage in my poster, along with other elements, including America. The original image used was stock photography, then using Photoshop I manipulated the scene to fit. I kept the color scheme down to black and white, to show contrast, then added in the red for a more dramatic effect.

Logo Design

This logo was created to be used as the logo for the water bottle I created, or the company that produces the water bottle. I chose to make it a company logo, the company's name being SOS. Within this project I used three colors, White, Blue, and Black. The blue was used to give the idea of water, while the black and white showed contrast. The way the letters were placed were to give the feeling of a wave on the sea, like a booey in the water.

Graphic Design

The idea of this project was to create a work of graphic design. Graphic design in the "art" of creating a design that has the elements of line, shape, color, text, and imagery to get across a point clearly. I completed this project by adding in the different elements necessary, such as the watch for imagery and "Time to Kill" as text.

Perspective

This project was one of the first in the class, using the element of perspective to create a scene. Within the project we were required to create boxes, then cut-out areas from some of the boxes, as well as overlaying them to add a city-skyline effect. The meddium used was colored pencils and I tried to keep a cool color scheme with greens as my main focus.

Graphic Shape and Space

Ideation for the Graphic Shape and Space

Final Design

The goal that we were trying to achieve with this project was to show balance through organic and geometric shapes, primary and secondary colors, and negative and positive space.

Balance Project

Devolpment of my Balance Project Ideations.

Final Design

The goal of the balance project was to create balance within a design by using either symmetrical or asymetrical patterns to create unison.

Literal Word Design

Ideations of Valor and Fear

Final Design

The goal of this project was to convey the meaning of two opposite words using only the letters of the said word. The only color scheme allowed was black and white.

Visual Communication Rendering Exercises

These exercises were created to test the students skills at using different mechanical tools to render forms.

Rhino Projects

This was one of our larger projects in Rhino, a product design. The choices for a product were between a water bottle, travel mug, or a teapot. The item I chose was a water bottle and came up with a introverted design.

A Power-Point can be seen here.

The castle was the first project completed in Rhino. The goal of this project was to experiment with Rhino using the different tools avaliable.

The desk design was the main project of Rhino. First, a real desk had to be measured and then a 3D model was created in Rhino to exact proportions. I've also added other details to my project such as a table, chair, poster, and pencils.

This flashlight was created using a tutorial to help the user understand the basic tools of Rhino and how to use them.

The goal of this project was to test the skill and abilities of a student to read through a tutorial and duplicate a duck as described in the tutorial.

A crayon, "wand" and die I made in Rhino for a one-day project we had to do. I used elements from the different tutorials we had to make each item.

This snowman was a side project I completed during extra class time. I used elements from the tutorials we had completed to create the snowman.

My Own Works

A sketch I originally scanned then inked and colored using Photoshop. It's of "Pidgey" from Pokemon.
