Accomplishments _________ I am honored to have been given the "Artist of the Year" award in 2006 by the late Mayor Michael Guido. _________ I am a founding member of an artists collective that has been involved in numerous community and collaborative art projects. In 2005 we designed a multi-media exhibit entitled "Facing Identity," which delt with the history of stereotyping in the media, for the opening of the Arab-American National Museum. _________ I also had the honor to design the logo for Michael Berry Career Center, with some helpful input of some teacher-colleauges. Hello! My name is Mr. Bazzi and I am a teacher of design at Michael Berry Career Center. I am a proud graduate of McDonald Elementary, Lowrey Middle and Fordson High Schools. I studied architecture and art history for a short time at Lawrence Technological University, and later fine arts and art education at Wayne State University, where I graduated with a degree in Art Education. I am primarily a painter, but have experience in many art forms, including digital and graphic design, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and more. I love to work on collaborative projects with other artists of all ages. I am married and am a father of three. "Journeys & Distances" Mural This mural is 8 feet high and 24 feet wide. I painted it with three other artists in September, October and November of 2005. Click here for a larger image of the mural.
