This is a map of the entire City of Dearborn with the emergency area in relation to the city. This map was created in ArcMap using a Dearborn Roads, Water Bodies, and City limits layer. The polygon "Emergency Area" was created using the editor toolbar to specify the location of the emergency. |
|
This is a 'close up' of the emergency area specified in the previous map. It shows the immediate danger area (The light green circle), the emergency location, and various important features in the area such as nearby schools, churches, and parks.
The feature points (churches, schools, parks, etc) and the immediate danger area (green circle) on the map were created using the editor toolbar in ArcMap. |

This map is the Evacuation Plan that is going to be used to Evacuate the people in the danger area to safety. As you can see in the map, there are two nearby schools that can be used as shelter areas. However, one of the schools, Edsel Ford, is located within the danger area. Therefore, Snow school, shown on the map as a light blue square, will be used as a shelter area. Evacuation Police have been placed to direct people during the evacuation. The dark blue lines represent the routes that can be taken to get out of the evacuation area. Traffic control police are stationed around the danger area to keep people away. |
