Course Description

In this year-long course, students use a series of industry standard software packages to plan, create and present a variety of interdisciplinary projects.  These programs include Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash and FreeHand, Microsoft Office, and ESRI ArcGIS.  While the projects focus on the use of software programs, the career and workplace skills learned in the course can be applied to nearly any I.T. career. Students will create a comprehensive digital portfolio as capstone projects and will have the chance to present projects both to other students, and to invited community members. Through partnerships with local universities and businesses, students may qualify for volunteer and paid internship opportunities.

After studying satellites and remote sensing technologies, students demonstrate what they've learned by creating a dynamic, 3D model of a satellite mission, and recording as a video.
