Welcome to the Computer Mapping Home Page

Students in this class us state-of-the-art software from ESRI to create digital maps.  Once they have mastered mapping skills, they use them to complete projects about their local communities using real world data.

Here are examples of student Computer Mapping Projects

 

Unit 1 (Intro to ArcGIS)

Students learn their way around ArcGIS, the industry standard software used to display and analyze spatial data.  They complete a set of tutorials which illustrate the last flight of Amelia Earhart as a sample project.

Unit 2 (Managing and Displaying Data)

Students use a variety of computer mapping skills to create several maps of Africa.  When completed, these maps for a poster or atlas of Africa
