Welcome to Mr. Bayerl's Class Page
Here's a bunch of goofy picture of me:

About Me:
B.S. Interdepartmental Biological Sciences, 1986, Michigan State University
M.S. Geographic Information Systems, 2002, Eastern Michigan University
PhD in Technology (in progress), Eastern Michigan University
I am a full time teacher at the Michael Berry Career Center in Dearborn, Michigan (www.dearbornschools.org). In addition to my teaching duties, I am also involved in the creation of a new multidisciplinary science curriculum called "BSCS Science: An Inquiry Approach" with Biological Sciences Curriculum Study of Colorado Springs, Colorado (www.bscs.org). I server on a Curriculum Advisory Committee for the Berry Career Technology Center and the District's Technology Advisory Commmittee. I am the chair of our building Technology Advisory Committee and building union representitive.
Prior to becoming a teacher I had a broad and diverse background. I have been a successful swimming and diving coach, sold fly fishing equipment, managed restaurants from fast food, to pizza delivery to sit-down dining, spent several years in the field working as a land surveyor, substitute taught, washed dishes and generally enjoyed life to the fullest.
I am a fanatic fly-fisher and an active member of the Michigan Fly Fishing Club (www.mffc.org). I tie my own flies, build my own bamboo fly rods, and cook what is widely know as one of the most elaborate shore lunches in Michigan. I served as a board member of the TroutBum Bar-B-Que, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit group which raised and donated over $130,000 for cold-water stream conservation projects in Michigan (http://www.troutbums.com/TBBBQ/).
On a personal note, I have been happily married to my wife, Amy, for 14 years now. We have one beautiful daughter, Brooke Olivia, born in February of 2003. Brooke and Amy are the center of my world. We share the house with two black lab-mix dogs: Muddy (the lover) and Elvis (the psycho). They are the two greatest dogs in the world and were both rescued after being abandoned
