EXTRAS

Like I mentioned in my bio., I enjoy skateboarding. My friends and I developed a skate team two years ago. We skate pretty much all year-round. Its a tremendous stress relief for me because i can just clear my mind, land a lot of my tricks, and hang out with my friends.

Besides that, I run track for my high school. I do pole vaulting. Last year was the first that I haven't ran because I moved. Another sport that I'm in is baseball. Last summer was also the first season that I didn't play. I like to think that I'm pretty good at both of them.

KYLE OPALACH

As you can see from the title, my name is Kyle Opalach. I am 18 years old and attend Dearborn High. Art and self expression has been in my life for as long as my memory allows me. When I started taking design concepts at Micheal Berry, I knew that design would be something that I would enjoy making a living out of. But what really caught my interest was the advertisment project we had. Now, I plan on going to college and study for a career in communicational design.

Prior to design concepts, I have taken intro to drawing class at Belleville High School, and a drawing and painting class last semester at Dearborn High. Even though my skills in drawing and design haven't been through numorus classes, they are refined. When I put time and work into my art, it is visible. I have confidence in my work.

In my spare time, I skateboard pretty much all year round. The snow never stops me. Skateboarding, as well as art, is another form of self expression for me. Rolling around and doing tricks through the air makes me free my mind and forget all the stresses of life.

M.A.D

This is the project that I feel I did the best on during the first semester. The assignment was to research magazine ads, then design your own based on your research. I picked bones bearings. They are a skateboard company that makes professional bearings for skateboards. I read a lot of skateboard magazines, so this wasn't hard at all. I used an actual picture of a skateboarder who is sponsored by them and pixelated the image and added red, grey, and black squares in the pixelation. The squares were transparent so you could still see the skateboarder, but became more transparent as it got the the symbol.

Stars

This was freelance. It was made in Adobe Illustrator. Basically all I did was used the shape maker and chose the star. I added plenty of them onto a page at different angles, had them merge, and made them contrast.

Literal Meaning

In this project, we were required to make a design of a word and have it seem like its literal meaning. Obviously, I chose the words fat and skinny. In the fat design, the letters are big, bold, and overlap. In the skinny design, the letters were lengthy and in narrow text.

Vanishing Points

The objective in this drawing is to give the illusion that the cubes look close up and far back. With some beings longer or shorter than others. I did this by drawing a line in the middle of the paper, and put a dot at each end. Those were the points that helped me draw my other lines to, to create my shapes.

Puma Ad

This design involved a lot of research. We had to research the Puma website and make our design based off of what we found. Every thing in my design includes images and text that i found on the website. I just formatted them to my liking.

Speed Forms

The object of this drawing was to just let my hand move with out second thought. From there, I made shapes and forms out of them. By adding shading, I also gave the apperance of depth and volume.

Mouse from Observation

This is a drawing of a dell mouse from observation. It is for a larger project that I am working on. By drawing the mouse, it gave me a feel of what the curvatures to a mouse should be.
