Michael Berry Career Center Enrollment for 2017-2018 School Year

(Dearborn, MI – March 6, 2017)  During the month of March, students are invited to enroll in our Career & Technical Education programs for the 2017-2018 School year.  These half-day (1-2-3rd hour or 4-5-6th hour) programs are available to all 10th-12th grade students in Dearborn Public Schools.

Current Programs include: Health Sciences, Culinary Arts, Design & Information Technology and a new Business program (The Dearborn Business Academy at MBCC—allowing students to complete the Accounting, Marketing and Business Management curriculums in an integrated and comprehensive program).

The programs are free and bus transportation is provided.  All programs offer in-depth and hands-on training designed to prepare the student for success in college and their chosen career.  In addition to academic training, student will have the opportunity to participate in workplace-based training through field trips, job shadows and other “on-site” opportunities.  They will also have access to student leadership and competition opportunities through BPA, DECA, HOSA or SkillsUSA.

Students and parents interested in our programs have four opportunities to learn more about our facility, staff and course offerings.

  • MBCC staff are currently visiting all three high schools and making presentations to students about their options at MBCC next year.

  • The building will be open to the public during Parent-Teacher conferences on March 23, 2017. MBCC staff and students will be available to offer guided tours and discuss what the MBCC experience if like.
  • MBCC is offering 1/2 day trips to the campus for students to tour the facility. Space is limited to 50 students each session (AM or PM).  Sign up sheets and permission slips are available from the student’s counselor.
