Advanced Allied Health:
Medical Assisting
This course covers the skills necessary to help prepare you to work as a Clinical Medical Assistant with a focus on hands-on concepts and skills, including taking vital signs, venipuncture, injections, EKG’s, collecting and processing lab specimens, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with office surgeries and other treatments and procedures. Emphasis is also placed on basic medical terminology and medical math. Skills will be taught and evaluated in person.
