Health Science Program

Health Sciences at MBCC


The Health Sciences program at MBCC is a two year program, with an elective third year. All students take Allied Health the first year. After successful completion of Allied Health, students have the option to take any of the Advanced Allied Health courses: Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Sports Medicine, Clinical, or Pharmacy Technician. Each the the Allied Health and Advanced Allied Health courses are two hour classes.

Advanced Allied Health classes offer training and examination in industry-recognized professions. This allows the student to have either a beginning of a career path, a medical related career for experience and college-prerequisite knowledge, and possibly articulated college credit!

While Allied Health is graded on a traditional 4.0 scale, Advanced classes are graded on a 5.0 scale just like advanced placement courses.

In addition to the core course sequence, elective alternative courses recommended to take at MBCC include Anatomy and Physiology and Emergency Response Technician.
